Description
The barn, wall, and outbuilding at Rookery Farm, located along the north and west sides of the farmyard, date from the mid-18th century and were formerly a stable. The barn, situated to the north of the farmyard, is constructed of a timber frame and weatherboard, with a concrete block plinth and a corrugated iron roof. It consists of four bays and features an off-centre wagon entry, double queen strut trusses, and purlins. There is a 20th-century lean-to at the west end of the barn.
Attached to the barn and extending along the west side of the farmyard is an 18th to early 19th-century wall made of rubble stone, which includes a small early 19th-century stable at the southern end. This stable is also built of rubble stone and has a slate roof, with openings for the ground floor and hayloft. The remainder of the wall has a 20th-century cartshed roof added to the farmyard side.
