Description
Brook Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations and an 18th-century bay added to the left, and a 20th-century extension on the right. The house is timber frame construction with whitewashed brick infill, some of the brick dating to the 17th century. It has a 20th-century tile roof, hipped over the extension to the right. The centre of the house has a partially rebuilt brick chimney, and the right side has a smaller 20th-century brick chimney. The original house comprised two bays with a central chimney and a lobby entry, with a narrower 17th- to 18th-century bay to the left. The ground floor of the original left bay has paired barred wooden casement windows, and the first floor has a single light. Above a 20th-century door is a single light window. A 20th-century canted projection with matching casement windows sits to the right and in front of a boarded 20th-century extension. The original left bay features a chamfered spine beam and heavy stop-chamfered joists.
