Description

Meadle Cottage is an early 18th-century house, originally three cottages, that has undergone significant renovation in the 20th century. The ground floor has been rebuilt using whitewashed brick, while the upper storey retains a timber-frame construction with whitewashed brick infill. The roof is thatched, with a half-hip design, and features a brick chimney to the rear of the right bay. The house is a narrow, one-and-a-half-storey range of four bays. It has 20th-century wooden casement windows with horizontal glazing bars – six windows to the ground floor and four paired casements set into the thatch. A 20th-century door is located to the left of the second bay. A 20th-century wing extends from the rear of the left bay, and there is a lean-to structure to the rear centre of the building.
