Description
Thatched Cottage and Old Seven Stars Cottage is a pair of cottages that were formerly an inn, dating from the 17th century and altered over time. The buildings are timber framed with colourwashed brick infill and some areas have been refaced. They feature a thatched roof that is half hipped at the eastern end. A central chimney stack made of old thin bricks is present, along with a second projecting stack at the western end that has string courses, weathered offsets, and a projecting semicircular bake oven at its base. The cottages are one storey with an attic, and the northern front has two doors. The windows are irregular modern casements, including one three-light upper casement and two casements that break into the thatch. The southern front has two small modern flat-roofed extensions. There is also an attached weatherboarded outbuilding at the eastern end, which is under the continuation of the main roof.
