Description
23 and 25 Aylesbury Road is a shop and house that dates from the 17th century, with a front that was refaced in brick during the 18th century and is now painted. The building features an old tile roof and a large brick chimney located on the ridge between the two properties. It is two stories tall with a four-bay front. The windows are tripartite sash windows set in architrave frames, except for the third bay from the left, which has a three-pane wide sash window.
On the ground floor, there is a similar tripartite sash window under a segmental arch. To the right, there is a six-panel door with an old hood supported by cut brackets. To the left, there are two modern small-paned shop windows flanking a modern half-glazed door, which also has a small hood on cut brackets. The left bay features a high carriage arch, with a sash window above that projects slightly and has dentil eaves, similar to the adjoining property at No. 21.
