Description
32 and 34A Aylesbury Road is a small house and cottage that dates back to the 15th and 17th centuries. The building is timber framed but was refronted in brick in the 18th century. No. 34A has been partly rebuilt. It features an old tile roof and a central brick chimney on No. 32. The structure is two storeys high with a four-bay front.
On the left-hand bay of No. 34A, there is a half-glazed door to the right, a three-light casement window to the left, and a two-light casement window on the first floor, all with wooden lintels. No. 32 showcases a chequer pattern in its brickwork and has a first-floor band made of red and blue bricks. Above a four-panel half-glazed door in the centre of No. 32, there are initials "L" and "M" flanking a reversed "N." This house also has a two-light casement window to the left, a three-light casement to the right, and two two-light casement windows on the first floor. The right-hand bay features a carriage door with a wooden lintel, and above it to the left is a circular plaster plaque.
Inside, there are three cruck trusses with blades that terminate under cambered collars.
