Description
Archway Cottage is a small house attached to the Red House, dating from the 18th century, possibly incorporating older elements. It features painted stucco and an old tile roof with a central brick chimney. The building is two storeys high and has a carriage arch on the right-hand side leading to the rear of The Red House. Above the arch is a 2-light horizontal sliding window, with a similar window on the left-hand side at a slightly lower level. There is a 19th-century 4-light transomed window with ornamental cresting in the centre, and a pair of glazed doors framed by a moulded architrave to the left. The rear wing is constructed of red brick with an old tile roof, also two storeys high, and has two bays of 2-light small paned horizontal sliding windows. The right-hand ground floor window has been replaced with a 20th-century casement and features cambered arches.
