Description

No. 6 Well Street is an early 19th-century shop and dwelling, with 20th-century alterations. It is rendered with incised masonry patterns, has a slate roof, and a brick end stack on the right. The building follows a double-depth plan. It is three storeys high and has a single-window front. A 20th-century door is located to the far left, approached by two stone steps with a moulded wooden surround and a shallow, straight hood on shaped brackets. A 20th-century shop front occupies the centre, with a 20th-century door to the right. A quartered sash window is present on the first floor, and a 12-pane sash window, divided into three tiers of four panes, is on the second floor. The building has a rendered plinth, storey bands on the first and second floors, and cogged brick eaves. The interior features boxed spine beams and a stone cellar.
