Description
19 High Street is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century, likely with older origins, and has been altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with flared headers, topped by a plain-tile roof and features brick end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, displaying a two-window range. There is a 20th-century door located to the left of centre, which has a painted brick flat-arched head. The ground and first floors feature two-light casement windows with wooden lintels, except for the right window on the ground floor, which has a flat-arched brick head. The house has a rendered plinth, dentilled brick eaves, and two gabled roof dormer windows. The left gable end is cement-rendered. At the rear, there is a one-storey and attic wing made of coursed squared limestone, which includes two-light casement windows and a door with wooden lintels, along with brick ridge and lateral stacks. This building was formerly a pair of semi-detached cottages. Inside, it is noted for having a chamfered spine beam.
