Description
Cowcroft Farmhouse is a 17th-century brick house dated 1671, featuring two storeys plus dormers and three bays. The building is constructed of red and grey brick and has an old tile roof with a cornice band and two dormers. The west front has a central doorway with a modern porch and three modern casements that have original flat arches. There is a band course and two panelled stacks. The house has a double pile design with two hips at the east or rear. At the rear, there are 17th-century leaded casements. On the west elevation, plaques between the first-floor windows display 'IW1671' and 'SA, TD'. Inside, the farmhouse retains its original dogleg staircase, which features turned balusters, a closed string, a moulded handrail, and ball finials on the newels. There is also a full staircase leading to the attic storey.
