Description
Ford Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century that has been altered and refurbished in 1985. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick infill and a half-hipped roof covered with old tiles. There are later brick chimneys located between the left bays and to the right. The house is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The right bay and the first floor of the centre bay have paired 20th-century two-light wooden casements, while the ground floor of the centre bay has one two-light casement. A 20th-century door is situated between the right bays. The left bay includes a 19th to 20th-century two-storey half-hipped projection made of whitewashed brick, featuring paired wooden casements on the first floor. Inside, the cottage displays timber framing with curved braces and wind-braces. The right bays contain heavy stop-chamfered spine beams and joists, which are likely re-set. There is no trace of the original chimney.
