Description

This milestone, made of rough stone and whitewashed, dates from the 18th or 19th century and has been re-used. The original inscription on the side facing away from Bath Road is now almost completely illegible. The stone has been turned so that a corner faces the road, resulting in two angled bottom faces and a flat face above. On the angled faces, the right side reads 'Slough 3' and the left side reads 'Maidenhead 2', while the flat face displays 'London 24'.
