Description
Huntercombe Farmhouse is a building that has parts dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, with the west elevation being refronted in the 18th century. The east elevation features timber framing with red brick nogging and has a handmade tile roof with an old chimney that has twin stacks, which are diamond-shaped in plan. The windows on the ground floor are modern casements with leaded lights, and there is a large fireplace along with a pair of glazed doors, each with a small casement on either side. The first floor has one one-light and one two-light casement.
The central section of the farmhouse was restored in the 19th century, with a portion added in the 20th century. This section also has timber framing with brick nogging, and the first floor oversails on brackets. The ground floor features one one-light casement and one three-light casement, while the first floor has one four-light casement.
The south section includes a modern wing that is brick cement rendered, designed to resemble stone masonry, with timber slats fixed horizontally to the first floor and a flat roof. The west elevation has a red brick old tile roof and a central brick buttress that supports the re-faced wall. There are four flush sash windows with glazing bars, a modillion cornice, and on the ground floor, there are two sashes set flush with glazing bars and one modern casement. The timber doorcase features Roman Doric fluted pilasters and a pediment.
The central section has a colourwashed brick and machine tile roof, with two flush sash windows under overhanging eaves, both with glazing bars. The ground floor includes a glazed entrance and one three-light casement with a cambered relieving arch and glazing bars. To the right, there is a modern extension with a first-floor balcony.
