Description

The dovecote in the garden of The Abbey House is likely from the 16th century and was formerly connected to Burnham Abbey. It is constructed of red brick and has a rectangular shape with a pyramidal thatched roof. There are two simple openings with iron bars for the entry of the birds, along with a plain door. Inside, there are brick nests built into the walls, accommodating approximately 300 birds.
