Description

This is a row of early 19th-century buildings on West Street. Numbers 76 to 80 form part of a larger group with numbers 74 and 104, including the entrance gates to Berlase School.

The buildings are primarily red brick, with grey headers in number 74. Numbers 76 and 78 are a symmetrical pair of two storeys with a gabled elevation. The rest of the buildings are a mix of two storeys and one storey with an attic. Number 74 has three-light casement windows on the upper floor, with the upper window breaking the roof line. Number 76 and 78 feature 19th-century casement windows set within segmental arches, which have stucco keystones. Modern doors are located on the left and right sides. Number 80 is similar to number 74, though its casement windows have been modernized with diamond-leaded panes, and there is a completely modern first-floor casement. All the buildings retain old tile roofs.
