Description
The building comprises a farmhouse with a pump in the yard, dating to the 17th and 18th centuries. The farmhouse is constructed of wicert rendered over a rubble stone plinth, all colourwashed. It has thatched half-hipped roofs and is arranged as one and a half storeys over three bays, with a gable end facing the road. A single-bay rear wing also fronts the road. An 18th-century block of rubble stone with an old tiled roof sits in the angle of the main range and the rear wing. The west, or front, elevation features a door within a shallow porch with a thatched roof located between the right-hand bays. Four-pane sashes from the early 19th century are present, along with three eaves dormers. A stack is situated between the right-hand bays, forming a lobby entry type plan, while another stack stands between the left-hand bays. The right-hand gable facing the road has a ground floor four-pane sash window, brick gable above a band, both colourwashed, and a two-light leaded casement window. The rear wing has casement windows; the ground floor window is modern. The rubble stone block has a single leaded casement window. Within the yard is a pump with a lead spout inscribed 'Castle Plumbery, Thame'. The interior includes inglenook fireplaces, chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, and stopped spine beams.
