Description

Bowers Farmhouse is a 17th-century timber-frame farmhouse with red brick nogging, with later additions dated 1686. The roof is covered in old tiles, and features an original stack on the left-hand side with four octagonal shafts. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has four modern, three-light leaded casement windows on the front. A bay to the right is dated 1686, with the date visible in black headers on the back wall. A former carriage arch beneath this section has been enclosed; some original 17th-century oak-framed, lead-glazed casements remain in the back wall. Inside, a large cambered arched inglenook is found in the left-hand room, alongside a 17th-century staircase and three 17th-century moulded brick fireplaces on the first floor.
