Description
The pair of lodges to Whaddon Hall, now used as dwellings, were built in the early 19th century and extended around 1980. They feature red and white chequer brick with stone dressings, although some elements have been restored or replaced with concrete. The lodges have a plinth and a battlemented parapet. Each lodge is single-storey and consists of one bay. The east and west walls include two-light stone windows with pointed arches, Y-tracery, and hoodmoulds that still show remnants of carved head stops. The walls facing the drive have four-panelled doors with four-centred heads set in brick arches. There are 20th-century single-storey extensions attached to the rear outer corners. Originally, the two lodges were connected by an arch.
