Description
Askett Farmhouse is a 17th-century house constructed with a timber frame, featuring colourwashed brick and plaster infill, and topped with a thatched roof. It has a brick chimney located on the right side. The building is 1½ storeys high and consists of four bays. The upper storey includes paired barred wooden casements, a smaller window beneath the thatch on the left, and three gabled semi-dormers. The ground floor has a smaller paired casement in the center, and a 20th-century barred and glazed door situated between the right bays, which is framed by a brick surround and topped with a 20th-century wooden hood. There is another similar door in the left bay, accompanied by a 20th-century barred wooden casement to the right. To the left, there is a slightly lower narrow bay that is rendered and colourwashed, featuring a chimney on the left and a 20th-century three-light barred wooden casement on the ground floor. At the rear, there is a lean-to structure with a slate roof.
