Description

The Mill House is a circa 1830 house with an attached earlier 18th-century building. It is constructed of rubble stone with stone dressings, and has a slate roof. The 19th-century part of the house is a central block with chamfered quoins and Tudor hood-moulds above the windows. The south front has two bays with three-light wooden casements featuring arched top bars. A modern glazed door is centrally placed on the right-hand side, with a fanlight above it, and a hood-mould carved with head stops. A single window is also present on the northern front. Later side bays, set back and projecting to the north, contain irregular modern casements, some of which are metal. The attached 18th-century house has an old tile roof with a central brick stack. Its south front features a centrally placed glazed double door within a metal frame, and irregular wooden casements, with the ground-floor windows having stone cambered arches.
