Description
Court Cottage (No 12) and St Marys Cottage (No 14) are early 19th-century buildings located attached to the west end of the Church Rooms in Amersham on Church Street. They are constructed from red and grey brick, featuring flint and stone dressings, and have a slate roof with projecting eaves.
The cottages are two storeys tall, with No 14 displaying a flush flint floorband. No 12 has a central door flanked by two 2-light casement windows, with two similar windows on the first floor and a blank recess above the door. All openings have segmental arches made of local sandstone, with the joints filled with flint chips.
No 14 has been altered, featuring a semi-circular arched doorway on the left and a segmental arched entrance on the right. The ground floor includes two casement windows with brick arches and one small window, while the first floor has a circular window in a brick surround at the centre, along with 2-light and 3-light modern casements on either side. The buildings are included for their group value.
