Description
Nos. 9-13 on Winslow Road are a row of three cottages, originally four, dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The rear wall and some internal walls are timber framed with brick infill, and the plinth is partly made of rubble stone. The front wall was rebuilt in brick during the 19th century, and the eaves were raised in the 20th century. The cottages have a 20th-century tiled roof and feature four brick chimneys, with the second from the left made of thin bricks. The buildings are one and a half storeys tall and consist of six bays. They have barred wooden casements with segmental heads, with two-light windows in the ground floor end bays and three-light windows in the remainder. There are five upper windows located in gabled semi-dormers. The cottages also include three board doors with segmental heads and one blocked doorway to the left of the right-hand bay. Inside, there are two original winder staircases.
