Description

This is a 17th-century cottage located on Queen Catherine Road in Steeple Claydon. It is a timber-frame building with whitewashed plaster infill and diagonal bracing. The roof is thatched, with brick chimneys situated at the centre and right-hand gable. The cottage is one-and-a-half storeys high and has two bays. Windows are leaded casements; there’s a two-light window on the ground floor to the right, a three-light window in the left-hand bay which extends into the thatched roof, and leaded casements in the gable ends of the first floor. A 20th-century door is set within a lean-to tiled porch on the left side of the cottage.
