Description
Fernleigh is a house built in the early 19th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a slate roof with brick end stacks. The house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with a basement, presenting a three-window range.
The central entrance consists of a six-panel, part-glazed door that is accessed by nine rendered steps, which are flanked by iron balustrades. The door has panelled reveals and a moulded wood surround that forms thin rounded pilasters on either side, supporting a flat, shaped hood and a rendered head. The ground and first floors are fitted with 12-pane sash windows, each having rendered heads. At the base, there is a rendered plinth with incised masonry patterns and a two-light basement window located to the right.
