Description

The Orangery, Henry's Cottage, and The Aviary are located on the south side of the stable court at Langley Park. This 18th-century structure is made of red brick and features slate roofs. The Orangery and the adjoining building open to the south into a walled garden, which is enclosed by brick walls. There are square brick piers with flat pyramid caps leading to an opening that has wrought iron gates with a scroll overthrow. The Orangery itself has three tall arched glazing bar windows on either side of a central door, topped with a hipped roof that includes a pediment and a heavy moulded cornice. The outbuilding, also made of red brick, has a tile roof. Within the garden, there is a 19th-century aviary built on a brick base, featuring thin iron uprights and an iron barrel roof frame.
