Description
Rowan Tree Cottage and Gillies Cottage are a pair of cottages dating from the 17th century. They feature a timber-framed structure with blue-red brick and a handmade tile roof, which has gabled ends and chimney stacks. The cottages have a three-window range with two-light casements, although the central window has been bricked in. Each cottage has wooden shutters and two dormers. The ground floor includes a central brick entrance porch with doors on either side, which are close boarded. In front of the porch, there is a two-light casement and two additional two-light casements that have cambered brick arches. All the windows are fitted with glazing bars.
