Description

This is an urn located approximately 70 metres south of The Aviary in the grounds of Waddesdon Manor. It dates from the early 17th century and is of Netherlandish origin. The urn is made of carved marble and features four carved caryatids, each representing one of the Four Seasons, with appropriate relief scenes in between. It has a carved cover topped with a flame finial. The urn is set on a 19th-century splayed stone pedestal that has moulded panels and a cornice.
