Description
The Old Cottage is a house that was formerly two cottages, dating from the 17th century. It has been altered and extended over time. The structure features a timber frame with whitewashed render over brick infill, as well as rubble stone and a rendered plinth. The roof is tiled and from the 20th century, with flanking brick chimneys. The building stands two storeys tall and has three and a half bays, including a half-bay to the right that originally served as a lobby entry.
The windows on the first floor consist of four paired leaded casements, while the ground floor has an irregular arrangement: a single leaded light in the half-bay, paired barred wooden casements to the left and in the third bay, and double doors with leaded glazing in the second bay. To the right, there is a 20th-century extension that has been altered and rebuilt; it is made of brick with a tiled roof, stands one storey tall, and has two bays. This extension features a 20th-century three-light leaded casement to the left and a half-leaded two-light casement to the right. Access to the rear is available.
