Description

Thornton Cottage is a 17th-century timber-frame cottage with brick infill and a stone ground floor. It has a steeply pitched plain tile roof with gabled ends. The cottage is two storeys high. A first-floor oriel window, likely from the 18th century, is splayed and has a few small windows with leaded panes. There is a plank door and a casement window on the ground floor. An internal brick stack is located at the gable end. Lantern Cottage abuts Thornton Cottage at a right angle, with Lantern Cottage's gable end running through the end of Thornton Cottage.
