Description

The End House is a late 18th-century building situated at a prominent road junction and approach to the High Street from the river. It is a two-storey and attic structure with a brick facade laid on a projecting plinth, finished with a moulded bracketted eaves cornice. The roof is a Mansard of old tiles, hipped to the left. The front is three bays wide. The central entrance is a six-panel door set within a panelled reveal and architrave, sheltered by a delicate Doric porch with two columns, wall pilasters, an entablature with a bracketted cornice, and a pediment. The return front to the left features a two-storey wide, angular bay with delicate cornices at each floor, and a central casement window on the second floor.
