Description
Brampton House is a 18th-century building located on the southwest side of High Street. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed of brick on a projecting plinth. The façade features a string course at the first floor level, a moulded and bracketed cornice, and a parapet with stone coping. The roof is covered with old tiles. The front has five bays, and the windows are framed with architrave. The central entrance has a six-panel door set in a panelled reveal, complete with an architrave and doorcase supported by reeded Doric pilasters. The entablature above has a curved frieze that is broken forward over the pilasters, topped with a moulded pediment. A lion knocker adorns the door. The rear of the building is irregular and older than the front.
