Description

Stock Cottage, formerly known as Stockgrove, dates to 1692. It is constructed of red and grey brick with an old tile roof. The cottage is two storeys high, with a band marking the first floor. The ground floor windows are three-light casements with cambered arches, while the first-floor windows are three-light casements with flat arches. An oval plaque is centrally located and displays raised initials "NB" and the date 1692, embellished with floral ornament. An entrance is situated in the south gable. A lateral stack is located at the rear, and an 18th-century staircase is within a small rear wing, which has been incorporated into a modern wing added in 1970/1.
