Description

House, dating from circa 1835. The house is constructed of witchert (wattle and daub), colourwashed to the front, with roughcast to the flanks and rear, and a rubble plinth. It has a hipped slate roof. The building is two storeys high with three bays. The central entrance features a four-panel door and a margined fanlight above. There is a blank recess above the door. Canted bay windows with slate roofs are located in the outer bays, with sashes. First floor windows are three-pane sashes. Hood moulds in a Gothick style adorn the upper windows. A stack is positioned on the right-hand side, and a rear stack is on the left. A single-story outbuilding range with a slate roof extends at the rear. This is an interesting example of a high-quality use of witchert on a late Georgian villa.
