Description
Two piers and railings are located 160 meters south of the entrance gates to Wotton House. These were built in the early 18th century and consist of brick piers featuring moulded stone bases and cornices, topped with ball finials and carved stone scrolls on the side pilasters. The wrought iron diamond railings include standard panels adorned with scrolls and crests. The inner gate piers are 19th-century replacements made of cast iron. The entrance leads to a south avenue that was planted under the direction of George London.
