Description

No. 82 High Street is a building from the 17th and 18th centuries, featuring one storey and an attic. It has a timber-frame structure with plaster infilling, colour washed rubble, and some brick. The roof is thatched. The gable facing the street has a large stone chimney stack with a tiled slope to the north and a pentice on the south side over a small corner window, with a 2-light casement above.

On the north elevation, there is a timber-framed bay on the right with a 3-light casement and a similar window above, both under thatch. The central stone section includes a door flanked by 2-light casements, with two windows above also in thatch. A small modern tiled lean-to is present in the left corner, featuring a half-glazed door and a 3-light casement, along with a modern window in a half gable. There is a small upper casement in thatch.

At the west end, there is a wing at right angles with a tiled roof, which has a 2-light casement on the ground floor and a swept dormer with a 2-light casement. The south elevation consists of a left part made of brick, while the remainder is rubble stone and roughcast. This side features two 2-light casements on the left, one small window on the right, and another small window in thatch near the centre.
