Description
Townhead Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of slobbered rubble with stone dressings and has a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The central entrance features a chamfered surround and a glazed door from around 1960. On the ground floor, there are two double chamfered three-light cavetto mullioned windows, which include two-pane casements and fixed lights. The upper floor has a central single light sash window with glazing bars, flanked by two two-light windows that have flat faced mullions and two-pane casements. To the left of the house, there is a late 19th-century one bay extension that has a continuous outshut roof. The right-hand gable end has a ridge stack, as does the former left-hand gable.
