Description
Littleburn Bridge is a bridge dated 1814, built for the 4th Lord Rokeby of Littleburn House. It is constructed of rubble and features a single segmental arch. The parapets end in square ashlar pedestals, which have panelled sides and pyramidal tops. The coping on the parapets is made of ashlar, with the stones tightly fitted together. On the inside of the downstream parapet, there is a stone inscribed with "AD 1814". On the inside of the upstream parapet, there is an ashlar sandstone plaque with a Latin inscription that describes the destructive force of water and commemorates the Duke of Wellington's victories.
