Description
Low Scale Farmhouse is a former farmhouse that is now derelict. It dates from the late 17th century and has 19th-century alterations. The building is constructed of slobbered limestone rubble with millstone grit dressings and features a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high and has two bays. The left-hand entrance has a plain lintel and a plank stable door. The ground floor windows are all blocked and much altered, including a round-headed chamfered fire window. There is a drip mould on the ground floor. The upper floor originally had a two-light chamfered mullioned window, which is now blocked. The right-hand side features a former three-light chamfered mullioned window, of which only the left-hand mullion remains, with the left-hand light blocked and no glazing present. The right-hand gable end has a projecting ridge stack, and the right-hand return contains a blocked upper floor chamfered window. There is a left-hand extension and outshut, which may be early 19th century. The interior is not accessible.
