Description

This boundary stone, located about 400 metres northeast of Bowsber Farmhouse in Clapham, is likely from the early to mid-19th century. It is made of painted millstone grit and measures approximately 1 metre high and 1 metre wide. The stone is inscribed with the names 'CLAPHAM' and 'AUSTWICK', which are separated by a vertical V-shaped groove. The edges of the stone are chamfered.
