Description

The walled garden, located approximately 40 meters south of Evans House in Sedbergh, is likely from the late 18th century and has been altered over time. It is primarily constructed of mixed sandstone and blue ragstone rubble, with the south face of the north wall made of handmade red brick. The garden has a trapeziform shape, measuring about 40 meters wide from east to west and approximately 50 meters on the longer west side. The walls rise to a height of about 2 to 3 meters and feature stone coping. There is a segmental-headed doorway in the center of the north wall. This garden is an important part of the setting for Evans House.
