Description
Holme House Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that was refronted in the mid-19th century. It features pebbledash with stone dressings and a stone slate roof. The entrance, located in the second bay, has a plain surround and a six-panel door. There are three ground floor and four upper floor windows, all with plain surrounds and 1970s casements, except for the fourth bay, which has sashes with glazing bars. The eaves are supported by modillions. The left-hand gable end has a ridge stack, and there is another ridge stack between the third and fourth bays. To the right, a projecting single-storey shop conceals a former entrance that has a chamfered surround and a basket arched lintel. The left-hand return shows remnants of blocked 17th-century flat and round-headed windows, which are partially obscured by sloppy rendering. The farmhouse is included for its group value.
