Description
This garden building, located approximately 25 metres north-east of Saxelby House, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and features a stone slate roof. The building is single storey with a lean-to roof and has projecting quoins. The wide frontage accommodates a round-arched doorway, which has a projecting keystone adorned with crudely worked vermiculated rustication. There is a blocking course above the doorway. The building was not examined in detail during the resurvey and is currently in a derelict condition. It is included for its group value and is one of the few remaining garden structures from the 18th to 19th centuries associated with smaller farmhouses in the area, possibly serving as a privy.
