Barn Approximately 4 Metres North West Of Moser Hill Farmhouse

This is a shippon-barn located approximately 4 meters north-west of Moser Hill Farmhouse in Dentdale. It likely dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century and has undergone alterations, including the addition of a 19th-century shippon at the rear. The barn is constructed from large mixed random rubble with quoins and features a stone slate roof. It has a rectangular four-bay plan oriented on an east-west axis, with a continuous shippon outshut added to the north side under a catslide roof.

The south front includes a wagon doorway in the second bay, which is sheltered by a shallow porch with a monopitched roof; this is likely a 19th-century modification made during the building's conversion and enlargement. There are three original shippon doorways, one in the center and one at each end, with the first two blocked. All these doorways have segmental heads and long rubble voussoirs. Between the second and third doorways is a loading doorway, with its lower part blocked, featuring a segmentally-curved monolith lintel that is scored to imitate voussoirs. The interior has not been inspected. This barn forms a group with Moser Hill Farmhouse.
