Description

This is a mid-18th century farmhouse located on the north side of Village Street in Thornton Rust. The farmhouse is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof. The main structure is two storeys high with a symmetrical arrangement of three windows on the first floor and one on the ground floor. The central entrance has a part-glazed door set within a basket-arched surround of ashlar, resting on plinths and featuring a cornice. Most of the windows are renewed but set within ashlar architraves and have weathercourses. To the left of the main door, on both floors, are double four-pane sash windows. Other windows are six-pane sashes. The left end of the building has a shaped kneeler and ashlar coping. There are end stacks. An original outbuilding is attached to the right side of the house, featuring a casement window on each floor.
