Description

Mantley Field Laithe is a field barn dated 1755, constructed from uncoursed rubble with troughs, stone quoins, and a stone slate roof. The barn has three bays and features a central waggon porch. To the left of the porch, there is a door with a lintel that displays the initials I H and the date. A rectangular pitching hole is located in the left-hand return, and a breather can be found in the right-hand gable. Inside, the barn has a queen post roof and a byre to the left. It is set into the hillside and is noted as a rare example of a dated mid-18th century field barn.
