Description
Barden Church is a chapel from the 16th century, located on the south side of Barden Tower Farmhouse. It is constructed of ashlar, with coursed squared stone and a graduated stone slate roof. The building is one storey high and has two bays. On the right side, there is an offset angle stepped buttress. To the left of this buttress, a small four-centred arched doorway is set back in a deep plain reveal. The left side features a large six-light moulded chamfered mullioned window with elliptical-headed lights, a central major mullion, and a hoodmould. The left-hand bay has a three-light moulded chamfered mullioned window, also with elliptical-headed lights and a hoodmould. The church has a band and a plain parapet with moulded coping. The interior was restored in the 19th century but is now gutted.
