Description
Lee Gate is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century, with origins in the 17th century. It is constructed of coursed gritstone rubble and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and four bays, with quoins at the corners. There is a 20th-century glazed door in bay three, set within a plain surround that includes a cornice and entablature. The windows on the ground and first floors are sashes with glazing bars, also in plain surrounds. The house has end stacks, with the left stack projecting. Inside, the ground floor on the left side contains a large gable fireplace that is concealed by plaster and wallpaper, and the ceiling beams are reused from the 17th century.
