Description

This is an early 18th-century farmhouse with an attached stable and byre, all built under a single roof. The farmhouse is constructed of rubble stone with a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high with two windows on the first floor. A central pent-roofed porch has a board door set within a plain stone surround. Above the door is a panel inscribed "M I C" dated 1847. To the left of the porch is a bay with a two-light chamfered mullion window followed by a single-light window. To the right is a bay with rougher, flat-faced mullion windows. The house has end stacks. To the left is a cart-shed, distinguished by board doors set under a segmental arch of sandstone ashlar voussoirs. The stable has a board door within a sandstone ashlar surround with impost jambs. To the right, steps lead up to a hayloft accessed through a board door in a stone surround with interrupted jambs.
