Description
West Calverts House is a farmhouse dated 1769, constructed from coursed rubble with a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. It features ashlar surrounds around the openings. There is a part-glazed door located between the second and third bays, set within a simple Tuscan doorcase that has a cornice. The windows are four-pane sash types. A notable feature is the fine lead rainwater head, which is cast with cherubic masks and is marked with "RM 1769". The house has shaped kneelers and ashlar copings, with stacks located between the first and second bays and at the right end.
On the rear elevation, there is a round-headed staircase window that has decorative glazing bars, set within an ashlar surround that includes imposts and a keystone. The right return of the building has a front kneeler inscribed with "RM 1769" and a rear kneeler inscribed with "CM 1674". Inside, the house features window shutters and a staircase with turned balusters.
