Description
Abbot Holme Bridge is a public road bridge over the River Rawthey, likely built in the 17th century and altered over time. It is constructed of roughly-coursed rubble with stone slate bands and has a straight and narrow design, measuring approximately 2 metres wide. The bridge features one high segmental arch made of long rubble voussoirs, with four stone corbels near the apex on the north side. A two-course stone slate arch-band runs horizontally at about half-height. The deck is slightly humped and is protected by parapets that have renewed coping made of large stone blocks. The bridge has wider abutments at both ends, which are battered and stepped on the south side. It forms a group with Abbot Holme House located to the east.
